What We Believe
*We believe the entire Bible is the inspired Word of God (2 Timothy 3:16,17)
*In the beginning God created all things in six, literal twenty-four-hour days and rested on the seventh day. (Genesis 1)
*Jesus Christ shed his blood on Calvary to redeem us from sin, was resurrected from the dead, and is sitting at the right hand of the Father interceding for us. (Colossians 1:20-22; Hebrews 10:12)
*All men are guilty before God, needing to repent, confess and forsake their sin and believe and obey God’s Word. (Acts 2:38 Romans 3:23 Romans 10:9)
*We believe in adult believers baptism upon confession of faith. (Mark 16:16)
*We believe “good works” are the result of being saved. While “good works” will not save us, they are essential fruit in a believer’s life. (Ephesians 2:9,10)
*We believe in nonconformity to the world, in dress and practice. (1 John 2:15)
*We believe in nonresistance in all phases of life. (Matthew 5:43-46)
*We believe that the local brotherhood is a place of submission one to another and that a statement or creed of agreed upon guidelines, is essential in expressing our beliefs. (1 Peter 5:5)
*Women are to wear a head covering, as a sign of submission to God’s headship order. (1 Corinthians 11:5)
*Men are to be spiritual leaders (1 Corinthians 11:3)
*The use of the radio and television and internet without filtering and monitoring, is detrimental to true Christian living and must be avoided. (Psalms 101:3 Thessalonians 5:22)
*God’s design for marriage is one man and one woman for life. Divorce and remarriage and other deviations from God’s design are sinful. (Mark 10:6-12)
*It is possible to experience the new birth and later fall away and be lost. (2 Peter 2:20-22)
*It is necessary to seek to become part of a body of local believers. (Hebrews 10:25; 13:17)
*We believe in the second coming of Jesus Christ, that upon his return He will resurrect the righteous to eternal bliss in Heaven and the unrighteous to eternal damnation in Hell. (Matthew 25:31-46)
